After hitting the Christmas funny bone, the Laffalang team will return to South Shields in February, this time to celebrate St Valentine’s Day.

The sketch comedy extravaganza, which attracted 400 people in December for the Christmas Laffalang, will feature 13 new, specially written sketches by Ed linked by top north east comedian Steffen Peddie.

The Valentine special features Widow Twanky singing Lili Marlene to the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Geordie: The Musical and the Alnwick Radio Stage Ensemble (ARSE) tackling a Wuthering Heights mash-up.

Gareth Hunter, who also directs the show, said: “As it’s also near Pancake Day, we’ll be Talking Crepe. Plus, we’ll show you why John Noakes never made his own girlfriend out of sticky-back plastic.”

A collection will be held at the end of each show for Breast Cancer Campaign.

The Valentine Laffalang is at the Westovian Theatre, South Shields, on Thursday and Friday, February 12 & 13 and starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 and are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Haven Point Sports Centre. Telephone (0191) 4247788
