After sell out shows in England, Scotland and Australia in 2010, Dirty Dusting will continue bringing laughter to people in the Antipodes in 2011. This year the play is heading to New Zealand where a six-week tour begins at the Clarence St Theatre in Hamilton on April 29 and ends at the Marlbrough Civic Theatre in Blenheim on June 5.
The show stars Suzanne Paul, Rima Te Wiata and Lynda Milligan is directed by David McPhail and produced by Ben McDonald.
As well as Hamilton and Blenheim the tour takes in Whangarei (Captain Bouganville), Auckland (Bruce Mason Centre), Palmerston North (Regent), New Plymouth (Theatre Royal), Taupo (Great Lake Centre), Wanganui (Royal Opera House), Hastings (Opera House), Tauranga (Baycourt), Wellington (Opera House), Oamaru (Opera House), Gore (St James Theatre), Invercargill (Civic Theatre), Arrowtown (Athenaeum Hall), Dunedin (Mayfair Theatre), Timaru (Theatre Royal), Christchurch (James Hay Theatre), Ashburton (Events Theatre), Greymouth (Regent Theatre) and Nelson (Theatre Royal) .
Waiting For Gateaux played at a number of these venues when it toured the South Island in 2006 so we are delighted to be returning to old haunts with Dirty Dusting, as well as venturing into pastures new on the North Island. We were lucky enough to be shown round the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland when we visited back then and are delighted that DD is finally playing at this impressive 1164-seat venue.
Meanwhile, back in England, the show plays the Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield from Tuesday, May 17, to Saturday 21, and Middlesbrough Theatre, Thursday, May 26 to Saturday 28.
