A rapturous audience thoroughly enjoyed the rehearsed reading of Cinderella 2, the latest comedy from the pens of Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood.
The reading, mischievously arranged to clash with the royal wedding, took place at the Customs House in South Shields on Friday, April 29 and proved a big hit.
The cast, Rachel Teate as Cinderella, Steven Stobbs as Buttons, Iain Cunningham as the Fairy Godfather, Louis Roberts as Dandini and Rachel Adamson as Dandini threw themselves into the performance and their energy was hugely appreciated by the packed crowd, a remarkable achievement given that rehearsals only began that morning.
Director Jackie Fielding orchestrated proceedings beautifully and many thanks must go to Gareth Hunter of Ion Productions who pulled it all together.
It is now hoped to put together a full production of the panto-style show – watch this space for further details!
